I am the Lois M. Lackner Professor of Mathematics at the Mathematics Department of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

My research interests include Poisson and symplectic geometry, Lie theory and integrable systems. One can find information about activities in Poisson geometry in North America and in the rest of the world in the Poisson geometry web page.

I am an Associate Editor of Portugaliae Mathematica and of the Journal of Geometric Mechanics. I am also a member of the Meetings Committee and of the Publications Committee of the European Mathematical Society.

In the Fall 2016 I will be teaching Math 500 - Abstract Algebra I and Math 522 - Lie Groups and Lie Algebras I. In the Spring 2017 I will be teaching Math 417 - Introduction to Abstract Algebra.
