Math Placement Score

Where does my score appear?

1. Your score is automatically added to your U of I student profile which is accessible by your advisor.

2. You can view your score by reentering the U of I Math Placement Exam using the same access link for which you took the exam, i.e. "New Incoming Student" or the "Current U of I Student" link from http://www.aleks.com/uiuc/math/. Click the assessment button and your score will appear.

What if I do not obtain the required minimum score for Math 115, 220, 221 or 234?

Those students enrolled in Math 115, 220, 221, or 234 are required to obtain a minimum ALEKS placement score by the 5th day of enrollment of at least 70% for Math 220 and 221 and 50% for Math 115 and 234. Failure to meet the minimum score for Math 115, 220, 221, and 234 will result in automatic placement in the prerequisite course.

Therefore if you do not reach the minimum score, you have three choices:

Choice 1. You may retake the ALEKS placement exam before the 5th day of enrollment in an attempt to improve your score.

Choice 2. You may self-remediate in an attempt to improve your score in the Learning Module before the 5th day of enrollment by clicking on the learning module link after re-accessing the placement exam. The learning module has to be accessed via the same way you accessed the placement exam, namely through the "New Incoming Student" or the "Current U of I Student" link from http://www.aleks.com/uiuc/math/.

Choice 3. You may enroll in the prerequisite course:
